Netflix’s Korean drama Four Hands, Two Sonatas brings Song Kang and Lee Jun-young together as two brilliant young pianists in a coming-of-age story driven by music, competition and friendship.
The series follows two students who arrive at an elite arts high school from very different backgrounds. Song Kang stars as Kang Bi-o, an accomplished pianist who relentlessly pursues perfection, while Lee Jun-young plays Choi Jung-yo, a naturally gifted musician who continues to chase his dream of becoming a pianist despite growing up under difficult circumstances.
Their contrasting personalities and approaches to music quickly turn them into rivals. Kang Bi-o has built his talent through discipline and an uncompromising drive for perfection, while Choi Jung-yo possesses an instinctive musicality and a freer approach to performance. As they compete and become increasingly aware of each other at the piano, their rivalry gradually develops into a relationship that influences not only their music but also the way they see themselves and their futures.
An official clip released by Netflix offers a glimpse of the tension between the two pianists and the unusual bond that begins to form through music. The contrast between a perfectionist shaped by relentless practice and a natural-born talent guided by instinct emerges as one of the drama’s central dynamics.
Alongside Song Kang and Lee Jun-young, the series also stars Jang Gyu-ri, adding another dimension to the relationships surrounding the two young musicians.
Blending classical music with the emotional intensity of youth, Four Hands, Two Sonatas explores what happens when two extraordinary talents become each other’s greatest competition — and potentially their greatest source of inspiration.
